A Sunny Saturday....

Today was a day out with my friend Valerie from Portland.
We went to Bush Barn Art Center to take a
last look at my featured exhibit for March.
It was a sunny spring day....
It felt like summer to have it warm up to 75 degrees!
I finished the day with some time in my backyard
 as I did some sketching...
It was almost as if you could watch things grow with the warmth!

I hope you had an opportunity to enjoy this beautiful day!

Happy Easter!

Art Extravaganza...

Art Extravaganza...
It was an event filled with information about so many tools and techniques.
It was held at Marla Baggetta's studio in Milwaukie.

It was wonderful to hear about the products from those who have the experience and knowledge.
I came home with all kinds of product information and samples to try out!

Making Memories...

Today was Grandma Day!
We took a walk out in the yard and picked some blossoms and sprigs
that give me hope that spring is near!
Then we spent some time inside working in our
art journals.

I had the pleasure of going out to lunch with my dear friends and
former co-workers today as well. We went to the gallery after lunch for some art time together.
Debbie, Elizabeth, Shirley, and Norma
We had great fun catching up, and talking about the days at the store
...And Old Lace.
What a special spot it was to shop for 21 years in downtown Salem!

Susan Day, one of my first pastel plein air instructors.
She also has students work upstairs in the Young Artists Show.
I enjoyed meeting Focus Gallery Artist Daniel Kreitzberg.
It was great to hear about his process in creating these moving pieces of art.

Thank you again Salem Art Association!
It was an event that brought together so many people from our area,
all to celebrate art!

Dream...

I  had the opportunity to share a special day at Bush Barn Art Center with
my husband Robby and sister-in-law Chris. We spent time enjoying seeing all my paintings up
on exhibit, and talking about the process of getting all these paintings ready to show. It
has been such a rewarding experience. Each piece has special meaning and memories
connected to it, whether it was created on location or painted from one of the photos
taken while out enjoying our Willamette Valley.

In addition to the paintings out on display,
there are a few on a pull out as well.
It was exciting to learn today that two of the paintings
in the show have sold!
Saturday, March 9th
is the Open House and Reception
Noon-3pm

Thank you Catherine and LeeAnn for doing such a fantastic
job of hanging all my paintings for this show!!!

Just a thought as this day comes to a close....

As the titles of the two paintings that have sold remind me...

Journey on....

Today my  daughter and I took some time to go on an art journey...
We decided to visit Salem Electric and see if we could view my paintings
that they currently are renting through Bush Barn Art Center.

General Manager, Bob Speckman took us on a  tour of their collection of
original art that is displayed throughout the building.
This is my pastel painting "Journey On"

Earlier this morning I did an artists lecture at Bush Barn Art Center.
I took the group on a journey talking about plein air painting
adventures. I had the opportunity to talk to a wonderful group of
artists and gallery guides, all who are interested and appreciate art!
Through a digital slide show I was able to show them the process
of searching out a scene and creating my pastel paintings.

I am so honored to be the featured artist this month!
It is such a thrill to see all my pastel paintings on exhibit in the gallery.
There are ten paintings on the wall to the left, and three small works on the posts.
I'm looking forward to sharing time with everyone at the Open House and Exhibit Reception
this Saturday at the gallery from Noon-3pm.
It will be even more special because my granddaughters Lily and Gracie have
art entered in the Young Artists Showcase will also be on exhibit.

Gracie and Lily
and their work in progress.
