Gallery visit...

What a treat it was to stay in town to do lab work today.
It gave me an opportunity to stop and visit Bush Barn Art Center
and see all the recent exhibits.

After a warm greeting for Rachel and I from Jennifer at the front counter,
there was a moment of surprise seeing my urban landscapes on exhibit!

We spent alot of time enjoying James Southworth's exhibit of pastels
"Colors of France"
in the Camas Gallery.

Then we headed upstairs to the Holiday Showcase
in the A.N. Bush Gallery
where one could find many gifts of art.

Healing Energy Continued....

Today I was delighted to have my art sisters come visit.
We spent some time in my Art Room
creating and sharing.

I started two smaller format liquid acrylic underpaintings on White Wallis paper.
These will be focused florals working from some photos I took during spring/summer blossom season.
I look forward to having these to work on the next few days as I continue to
 step through this healing process.
So even though my energy level isn't very high,
it sure gets me going having a painting or two to be thinking about
that call to me.

Denise and Deanna worked in watercolors in their sketchbook journals.
Having them here sure brightened the day!

Happy Brithday Deanna!

The Memories we collect and give,
brighten our lives as long as we live.

Art and Healing...

ART enables us to find ourselves
and lose ourselves
at the same time.

17 X 11" Charcoal on newsprint

I'm finding that my art room is a wonderful place to
spend time as I am stepping through this healing process.
Even if it's only a few minutes at a time,
it brings me back to me.
So while I'm "letting go" as I do a loose sketch of my get well bouquet
I also find a new place of comfort.

I believe in miracles.

Two weeks ago I became reborn.

Modern medicine has given me new life.

My daughter Rachel is my donor hero.

She gave me a kidney.

Now she is my angel.

Giving the gift of life.

Recieving the gift of life.

Every day is a gift!

I took my sketchbook along with me for the 5 day stay at the hospital, along with the latest issues of Artist's Magazine and Pastel Journal. Oh, and a new novel to read as well.
It was fun to sketch my beautiful bouquet of flowers recieved from my co-workers.

It was exciting to find out that I was 1,049 kidney transplant
at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital.

My husband Robby and I celebrated.
I got to keep "my number"
 It was a big day!
( I also got my staples out!)

On one of the many return trips to the hospital for follow up appointments, a visit to the healing garden was a hightlight. It's amazing how many blossoms are still to be found in mid-November.

Celebrating Life....

Having the support of dear friends sure means alot when
there is big stuff happening in our lives.

And what a great way to spend quality time....
creating art together.

I revisited a composition that I painted several months ago.
It was a vertical format on Rives BFK paper that was
painted with gesso and pumice,
then the fun with colorful pastels began.

Today was a day to be joyous and celebrate life with

To share the day with daughter Rachel made it
extra special!

Evolution :
a process of change in a particular direction.

We all have some of this going on in our life journeys.
Sometimes it seems more profound
and moving.
