January Art Day....

A full day of creating was shared this weekend with my Art Sisters.
After looking through my reference photos of skies,
I found that it was necessary to crop the 4 x 6" photograph down a lot.
Too much information!
 It was necessary to simplify.
These paintings were started with a value study in grey scale with
Nupastels directly on my sanded pastel paper.

We all had a great time and were productive too!

Denise and her watercolor in progress...

Deanna and her pastel in progress...

 Here are my pastel paintings...
 12 X 18"

 8 X 6"
I think I'll call them finished.

Here is a short slide show of the paintings process.

You can view the vertical paintings process on a slide show

Artist Facebook page.

After getting home, I decided to make a "vision board"
thinking that it would be a great way to keep motivated each month
by setting new goals or continuing on a focus.
I posted it right by my studio door
where I would pass by often and stop a moment to reflect,
and be reminded of my
thoughts and visions.

Do you have a new focus or goal for the New Year?

Looking Back and Moving Forward...

I love the changing of seasons.
It gives us a chance to reflect and look forward to new growth.
So here we are starting a New Year!
I feel a continued sense of gratitude for all the blessings of this past year.
Celebrating a successful year since my kidney transplant has given me a new look at the world around me and has opened my eyes to SO much.

Nurture Hope
6 x 8" pastel
$150
Many roads have been traveled so far on these
Artfelt Journeys.
In this time of exploring I have experienced fulfillment and growth.
Learning new artistic skills and how to see with new eyes has broadened my horizons.
I have traveled so far, while staying close to home.
This Joy of Seeing has taken me to places of discovery while stepping through each day.
I see wonder in things that we experience in our everyday lives
...the colors of nature all around us
...the formations of clouds in the sky
...the possibilities of many painting compositions in the landscape as I drive down familiar roads.

Imagine More
8 x 6" pastel
$150
Having the opportunities to share my art with others has enriched my life.
Thank you for all those out there that have supported me and encouraged me to continue to create.

"It's never too late to set another goal or dream a new dream."

May your New Year be filled with all that you Imagine and Hope for!
